Clarendon’s a wonderful tourism product says marketing expert

Marketing and Branding consultant Kim McCulley says Clarendon is ‘a wonderful (tourism) product’. According to the Canadian twenty-year tourism marketing expert ‘the product is here and all ready to go’ and it’s just a matter of ‘packaging it up’ for the market.

She was invited by the Caribbean Local Economic Development Project (CARILED) to assist local tourism interests with assessing the parish’s competitive advantage, brand and niche in the tourism industry.

St. Elizabeth to get three fire units

The St. Elizabeth Fire Department is to receive three additional fire engines and a water truck from the government of Japan.
Japanese Ambassador to Jamaica, His Excellency Masanori Nakano, signed the agreement for the units with Mayor of Black River, Everton Fisher, at a ceremony held on Friday March 18, 2016 at the official residence of the Ambassador, in Kingston.
The fire engines will be provided through the Embassy of Japan’s Grassroots Human Security Programme, and is worth $10.9 million.

Clarendon Parish Council to develop Salt River Attraction

The Clarendon Parish Council is to shortly assume ownership of the popular Salt River attraction located along the South-East coast of the parish. The Parish Council has all but secured a twenty-one year lease arrangement for five acres of the property on which the public mineral spring is located.
The deal was struck with current owner, SCJ Holdings.

KSAC regrets recent death of Elderly Resident

The Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) regrets the recent death of Ms. Hicilda Taylor, an elderly resident arising from a fire at 5 Balmagie Avenue in Kingston.

The KSAC will extend its usual support to the affected individuals to enable them to recover from this crisis.

We remind residents to always be on the look out for the well-being of the elderly and other vulnerable groups in the society. We also urge residents to maintain utmost safety awareness in order to prevent the recurrence of these kinds of incidents.
