Disasters do happen and the word ‘preparedness’ is one that can never be overused.
OPERATION: MOSQUITO SEARCH AND DESTROY
The St. Catherine leg of the ZIKA-V cleanup operation, dubbed ‘Operation: Mosquito Search and Destroy’ kicked off Saturday February 20, 2016 in Old Braeton and Reid’s Pen, Portmore. Following which, a launch was also held at the St. Catherine Parish Council that subsequently took the team and host of volunteers into the Rivoli community, Spanish Town.
Invitation to Tender
The St. Catherine Parish Council invites contractors to submit tender to undertake road rehabilitation to Thetford Cemetery Chapel in Church Pen Division, St Catherine.
The works will include but not necessarily be restricted to the following work description:
1. Excavation and earth works
3. Concrete work

On Wednesday February 17, 2016, the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development and the St. Mary Parish Council officially opened the roadway into the Lyndale Housing Scheme, Highgate, St. Mary.
The residents of Lyndale were thrilled has they witnessed their property tax working for them.

The annual Marcus Garvey Fair was held on Sunday, February 28, 2016 on the grounds of the Cross Keys High School in south Manchester.
The Marcus Garvey Fair is held annually in a small village name resource in the hills of South Manchester. This annual fair, which takes place in Black History Month, celebrates the life of Jamaica’s first National Hero.
The KSAC wishes to express our profound thanks to the principal, staff and students of the Hamden Early Childhood Education Centre formely located at Heroes Circle, for the patience and understanding you displayed and the cooperation you exercised during the recent relocation of your school necessitated by the physical redevelopment of Heroes Park.
We would also like to thank the residents of Blue Castle Drive, Mona for agitating and working with the KSAC to ensure the closure and relocation of an illegally operated school in the community.

The Permit Parking System was reintroduced by the Manchester Parish Council on Monday, December 14, 2015.
The main objective of the system is to regulate parking, ease traffic conjestion, create public order and encourage space turn over.
The following streets will be affected:
- Manchester Road
- Ward Avenue
- South Race Course Road
- Park crescent
- Brigade Crescent
