KSAMC CEO asks residents to cooperate with youth workers

The CEO of the Kingston & St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) Robert Hill is asking resident of the city to cooperate with the Youth Summer Employment Programme youth workers in the execution of their duties during the summer period.

Hill explained that several residents have refused to provide the students with information out of fear that they are working with either utility companies of some sort.

Mayor of Black River and chairman of the St Elizabeth Municipal Corporation Derrick Sangster is watched by minority leader Everton Fisher as he signs the condolence book for the late Donald Horne, former councillor for the Junction Division. The St Elizabeth Municipal Corporation had opened a condolence book at its offices in Black River for Donald Horne, who served for 25 years as parish councillor representing the People’s National Party (PNP) in the Junction Division during the 1970s, 1990s and early 2000s, he died on July 25 at age 98.

Counting the Homeless – St. Catherine
Homelessness in Jamaica has become a chronic problem and the numbers are growing according to reports.
Acting on the directives of the Board of Supervision, (a statutory body operating under the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development), Poor Relief Departments across the country embarked on a National Count of the Homeless population. In July 2017 St. Catherine’s count was successfully carried out.
