Mourning the loss of Councillor Barton Oliver, Hampstead Division.

The St. Mary Parish Council family is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Councillor Barton Oliver.

Councillor Oliver joined the St. Mary Parish Council in June 2003, serving as Councillor for the Hampstead Division until his death. The late Councillor also served as Deputy Mayor from 2007-2012.

Mr. Oliver will be remembered by many as someone who always wears a smile, jovial, compassionate and friendly.

Relief Coming For Portmore Dust Bowl Victims – Work Slated To Begin On Climate Change Park By Month End

Less than a week after The Sunday Gleaner turned the spotlight on the dust bowl that should be the long-promised Climate Change Park in Portmore, St Catherine, word has come that work is to begin in earnest by the end of this month.
