Residents in the Alexandria community have been without a library for over six (6) years, due to fire destroying the Library that originally served the community. The construction of the new library is the brainchild of sitting Councillor for the Alexandria Division, Mr. Gilbert McLeod. Currently there are a number of public schools in close proximity to Alexandria that are forced to do without a library. Residents were experiencing grave challenges with obtaining library services to conduct research, complete assignments etc.
On Wednesday May 18, 2016 the St. Ann Parish Council had a soft launch for its Youth Advisory Task Force, following in the footsteps of the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation ( KSAC ).
We are extending our hands extensively in the field of Community Development by including the Youths in Local Policy Development, we are strengthening our Participatory Governance Framework and by
extension helping to build a stronger Nation!

The Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) has always believed the management of the Municipality must involve the input of all our stakeholders. As such, the KSAC has held numerous town hall meetings aimed at strengthening the relationship among residents, community and business interests and the Council.

Handing Over of Wheelchairs – St. Catherine Infirmary
‘Splendid days’ are what the St. Catherine Infirmary has been seeing for the past two years to present, as extensive rehabilitative, upgrading and beautification works continues in and around the historic building at 14 Monk Street, Spanish Town.
Members of staff, residents and visitors alike, are delighted at the work being done, that has given the building and the property a well deserved facelift; thanks to the efforts of the St. Catherine Parish Council.
Approximately twenty-eight (28) employees at the Manchester Parish Council participated in an in-house Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) training conducted by Mrs. Camille Beckford-Palmer, Regional Coordinator in the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), Disaster Management Unit on Monday, June 13, 2016.
