Mayor of Kingston Dr. Angela Brown Burke condemns Wednesday’s stabbing death of a 28 year old vendor at the Coronation Market in downtown Kingston.
Alvin Brown, was stabbed several times after an ensuing argument with a male shopper who later fled the scene. He later died at hospital while undergoing treatment.
Dr. Brown Burke expressed deepest sympathies for the relatives, friends and colleagues of Mr. Brown.

MINISTER OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT TOURS ST. CATHERINE PARISH COUNCIL’S FACILITIES
Minister of Local Government, Hon. Desmond McKenzie visited the St. Catherine Parish Council offices on Friday, July 29 where he engaged the Chairman, Mayor of Spanish Town, Councillor Norman Scott and his team in a prolonged tour of Parish Council facilities.
The St Elizabeth Parish Council and Black River Chapter of the St Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce partnered for the annual Black River Day held on Saturday, July 30.
The event is described by organisers as the “biggest street festival in Jamaica”.
At its fourth staging guests were treated to activities including a kiddies’ village, gospel concert, daytime street party, carnival village, night stage show, and opportunities for shopping.
