MONTEGO BAY, St. James (January 24, 2017): The St. James Municipal Corporation have summoned the occupants of its lands at Bogue Industrial Estate in Montego Bay to a meeting to finalise the sale of this property.

Chairman and Mayor of Montego Bay, Councillor Homer Davis, says the longstanding issue will be comprehensively discussed at the special sit-down scheduled for Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Municipal Building.

KSAC puts forward proposal to market Heritage Sites

Speaking at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Kingston yesterday at the Alhambra Inn in Kingston, Williams said city tourism provides an enormous opportunity for economic growth.

Noting that Kingston is ranked 24th in the New York Times 52 Places to Go in 2017, Williams said the city boasts a rich cultural history that will attract visitors if properly marketed.

“Kingston is a brand. We have to package that brand and sell that brand. This will require the commitment of all stakeholders, be it Government or private sector,” he argued.

‘Rasta Villa’ Laid to Rest

Going Home: An employee from Delapenha Funeral Home Staff is assisted by officers from the St. James Municipal Corporation's Poor Relief Department during the funeral service for Vernon ‘Rasta Villa' Gibson.

MONTEGO BAY, St. James (January 24, 2017): Staff of the St. James Municipal Corporation joined the family of the late Vernon ‘Rasta Villa’ Gibson to celebrate his life during a thanksgiving service at the Delapenha’s Funeral Home Chapel last Friday (January 20, 2017).

Gibson, who died on November 28 last year, lived on his own until a month before his passing at which time, he was a resident at the St. James Infirmary.
