The Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) regrets the fire which reportedly has damaged the historic Half-Way-Tree Square Clock.
This iconic landmark has for centuries been the main arrival and departure point for Kingston, from the days of the ‘horse and buggy’ before motor vehicles and the demarcation line for downtown and uptown Kingston.

Historic performances from former Manchester High School students Elaine Thompson and Omar McLeod highlighted the contributions of athletes from the south-central region in Jamaica’s outstanding display in the track and field portion of the just concluded XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Commonly known as a ‘son of the soil’, Marcus Garvey was a great visionary of his time. His contribution to Jamaica, the Caribbean and Africa is undeniable. He devoted his life to the liberation and development of black people across the world, particularly for people of his own country, Jamaica.
The parish of Trelawny is shortlisted to benefit from a joint venture between the ministries of local government and health to provide 200 bed spaces in infirmaries for patients who have been abandoned at public hospitals, for over a year in some cases.
Mayor of Kingston Dr. Angela Brown Burke condemns Wednesday’s stabbing death of a 28 year old vendor at the Coronation Market in downtown Kingston.
Alvin Brown, was stabbed several times after an ensuing argument with a male shopper who later fled the scene. He later died at hospital while undergoing treatment.
Dr. Brown Burke expressed deepest sympathies for the relatives, friends and colleagues of Mr. Brown.

Resurfacing road works are expected to commence on Dawkins Drive, in the vicinity of the Portmore Mall. Works will also include the paving of a much needed side walk for pedestrians.
