The Commercial Services Department
The Commercial Services Department is responsible for the proper management of all markets, transportation centres, cemeteries, sanitary conveniences and commercial entities, which are under the authority of the Parish Council.

Proper maintenance of the Council’s markets is a priority. Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Roads and works and the Commercial Services Department, weekly cleaning, washing and sanitizing the markets is undertaken.

Hanover Youth Mayor Wows Audience at MLGCD Luncheon in Kingston

Youth mayor Rheanna Kerr had everyone eating out of her hands at the annual Minister’s Luncheon put on by the Hon. Noel Arscott, on November 27, 2014. At the yearly event which was full of its usual flavor, as the culminating occasion to mark Local Government Month, the diminutive student of Lucea Primary School had everyone in stitches, including government official, teachers and even Guest speaker, Executive Director of Insports, Ian Andrews.

Parish Council Pulls Out All Stops For Late Youth Mayor 2008

It’s all systems go as the Parish Council joins the hand of the family of the late Cedric Murray, the 2008-2009 youth mayor for the parish, who passed away on December 29, 2014.
The former Bethel Primary School student who served in his capacity as youth mayor was instrumental in several projects at his alma mater, before moving to Cornwall College, in Montego Bay, had carried out the construction of a school sign as well as the making of a trophy cabinet, for his school.

Tree growing in Portmore drain removed by Portmore Mayor

Acting Mayor of Portmore, Councillor Leon Thomas, has removed a tree from a defective drain at West Trade Way in the Municipality, which was posing a traffic hazard and security risk to persons using the area.

In leading a removal team to the location today, the Acting Mayor said the Municipal Council moved to address the concerns expressed by residents and members of the business community.

FESTIVE SEASON TO SEE TRAFFIC CHANGES IN MAJOR TOWNS – Brown’s Town, Ocho Rios and St. Ann’s Bay to be affected.

(St. Ann’s Bay Jamaica) (December 10, 2014) As is customary, the St. Ann Parish Council in its usual effort to accommodate smooth traffic flow in major towns in the parish will implement its usual traffic changes for the festive season, come Monday December 15, 2014. The festive period brings with it an influx of both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, the Council in partnership with the Jamaica Constabulary Force will implement special measures to ensure smoother traffic flow and the safety of pedestrians.
