PICNIC IN THE PARK

PICNIC IN THE PARK

“It was the perfect picture, and this is what we want to see happening in Emancipation Square”, said one Parish Council St. Catherine member of staff who was observing the groups of children perched in the park refreshing themselves with food and drinks subsequent to a historical tour of the Square and the St. James Cathedral.

The approximately 140 persons consisted of students, parents and teachers from the Jessie Ripoll Primary School located at the corner of South Camp and Deanery Roads, Kingston.

Parish Council Gets Title To Drax Hall…Football Facility To Be Transformed Into Multi-Sporting Complex (Article from the Gleaner)

There are big plans to develop St Ann’s premier football facility into a multi-sporting venue, including three world-standard tennis courts by Tennis Jamaica.

Andrew Salm of AMBS Development and a member of the Salm family which owned the property, in handing over the title to Mayor Desmond Gilmore in the council’s office, called for the community to support the council in its drive to develop sporting facilities at Drax Hall.

Town Hall Meeting – Seaforth Division

The St. Thomas Parish Council and the St. Thomas Health Services hosted its 4th Town Hall meeting to sensitize the public about Zika Virus and HINI. The meeting was held at the Seaforth Methodist Church.

Agencies such as the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Social Development Commission, National Solid Waste Management, Jamaica Red Cross, officers of of the Parish Council and the St. Thomas Health Services were represented.

Seaforth residents came out in the numbers and engage members of the respective agencies with questions and concerns.

No Usual Day at Spanish Town Infirmary

It was not the usual drab day at the Spanish Town Infirmary on Saturday, April 16, 2016; instead, outside of the daily infrastructural works being carried out there for the past months, the premises came alive with additional activities.

First time volunteers from Westmore Gardens Citizens Association in Spanish Town, were out in their numbers to render assistance whilst grooming and sprucing up male and female residents, as many as they could on the various wards.
