Twenty-four-year-old paraplegic Surragee Whorms Jr of Daytona, Portmore, St Catherine, has received a wheelchair to assist with his mobility.
The Sunday Gleaner highlighted Whorms’ plight and acting Mayor of Portmore Leon Thomas, accompanied by Member of Parliament for the area Fitz Jackson, presented a new wheelchair to Whorms on Sunday.

Saying goodbye is never an easy thing, but as the sentiments were expressed to Mr. Gregory Prince, outgoing St. Catherine Social Development Commission’s Parish Manager, at an intimate reception held in his honor, at the Caymans Golf Club, on Thursday, August 18, farewell was shared joy.

The Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) regrets the fire which reportedly has damaged the historic Half-Way-Tree Square Clock.
This iconic landmark has for centuries been the main arrival and departure point for Kingston, from the days of the ‘horse and buggy’ before motor vehicles and the demarcation line for downtown and uptown Kingston.
