On Saturday, September 17, 2016 a total of 112 volunteers joined the Portmore Municipal Council in the International Coastal Cleanup campaign in ridding sections of the Port Henderson coastline, from waste. Clean up activities were carried out by the Council at two (2) locations, Port Henderson Beach (Fun City) and McMaster’s Open Lot. Clean up activities got underway at approximately 7:00 am and ended at 11:00 am.
Her Worship the Mayor of Kingston, Senator and Councillor Dr. Angela Brown Burke, J.P., on behalf of the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) family joins Jamaica in mourning the passing of 18 year old Dominic James, captain of the St. George’s College’s football team who died suddenly during a match yesterday.
It is indeed a sad time for the St. George’s and the school boy football family, but particularly so for the parents, friends and relatives of Dominic James.
Town Clerk Robert Hill, City Inspector Alrick Francis and City Engineer Norman Shand recently joined hundreds of volunteers and partnering agencies as part of Team KSAC to undertake clean up activities at Fort Rocky.
The clean up initiative spear-headed by JET, marked International Coastal Cleanup Day 2016.
